Bushabout -July 2012

After several weeks in Thailand relaxing and enjoying the warm weather and HOT food, we are already back in Perth.

With plans to head back to Port Lincoln via the Great Central Road in Sept. 12 months earlier than originally  planned - due to the constant WIND! and no where to get out of it to FISH comfortably!! Ah! you wimp's you say, agreed - Fair weather fisher person's!!

Heading for KGW country - That's KING GEORGE WHITING

With our trusty Troopy parked at our mates place in Perth - Thanks Trudge, Marion and Gordon - complete with tinnie filled with water to stop either from moving during the recent storms. We are off down south to catch-up with Jim, whom we last saw being loaded into an Ambulance and in Bunbury Hospital on the eve and several days after his 80th birthday.

Jim's pharmacy collection keeping him on the move

Green timber previously cut, now stacked to dry out to keep______

This going nearly 24 / 7 during the winter and COLD days in Spring!

Front yard storm damage, tree uprooted, now also added to the wood heaps. Jim in action with his trusty CHAIN SAW.

Next stop Yelbeni, where's that you ask, so did we!

Yelbeni is East of Wyalkatchem on the Nungarin - Wyalkatchem Road in the Central Wheat Belt. Derick and Kerry Clausen have a new farm. We dropped by on our way to Geraldton. 582K's from Jim's in Dunsborough. Drive time 7hrs 5 minutes average 82.2kph

Checking out Derick sheds and he has lot's of them - Fordies 5th wheeler and F250

Petrol pump from a bygone era, Keswick Adelaide

Chaff cutter similar to the one we had on our parents poultry farm

E-Type Jaguar V12 - neat

This relic is a bit slower

Some serious machinery - just completed seeding
- now for more RAIN!

The homestead

Derick and Kerry - still smilin' for RAIN!

Next stop - Lincoln Street Deep Dale Geraldton - 478k's 5hrs 46 minutes average 86.2kph and it's still

WET! and not moved in yet - that's 7 plus weeks since we departed. Ah! just in time to help MOVE!

Fuel filter light came on just before we departed to Thailand, visit Toyota and the Technician showed us how to clear the code, if it comes on again may need a filter change - okay good to go!

The dash fuel filter light has again come on - time to look at the filter. Just as well. There is no where in any of the manuals and or scheduled service book that the fuel filter is checked or changed. I had mentioned this previously to the Toyota service rep. in Port Lincoln he stated no need to check or change until the warning light comes on.  Hence this fuel filter may well have been insitu for 70,000k's no wonder the bowl is full of crud and filter BLACK!

Filters will be checked and changed every 20,000k's at a minimum for $40 or $20 from Bretts, cheap insurance to keep the injectors in top condition.

Whilst waiting for the ground to dry out and the gravel truck to arrive, time to checkout furniture for the NEW HOUSE!

Gravels down, official handover from the builder - now to MOVE!

Back yard - some work to do here.

Okay the boy's were a great help in getting MOVED!

Yep! all this stuff to be moved, only the fridge stays,
- man's gotta have a BEER fridge in his SHED!

First coffee break in the NEW HOUSE, Arnotts did the cooking!

All moved - time for the CHAMPAGNE - Opp's that's been in the bottle too long, down the sink - Beer and a red - thanks

Yep! Mod's already - where to put the clothes dryer, as it happens the dryer is a front venting type, so in the cupboard it goes.

Good fit

Where is every one - the MAN'S not waiting, it's getting cold!

Don't break your teeth on the CRACKLE boy's, yeah, it was that good!

Another 1st - Oven works - Roast pig, get the thumbs up!

Oh, no another 1st & perhaps last - the DISH washer WORKS!!

It's been cold and Rocky takes every opportunity to
camp on the soft stuff, keep warm and out of the WIND!

pride of PLACE in the SHED at long last

see i'm not stupid! it's soft and warmer than the concrete

Sue got a surprise!!

Got a good match with the furniture

Another roast and a Birthday

Black Forrest cake for the Birthday

Yep! it works - installed at Lincoln National Park and yes the one snake we did see gave us a wide berth. Previous years snakes ventured thru our camp site, one even poked his head into the annexe, with a hasty retreat when the decibel level went up!! Folks camped on Fishermans Point had relocated 6 snakes in 8 days. These units sold locally now for $69 each. Our unit some what cheaper - thanks Linden and the Geraldton Bird Club.

BJ's sports day ribbons, 3rd and a 4th.

Sue's into the local field / show day and was a winner
 -what was it now?

The sheep shearing competition was interesting
- not with my fragile back.

Ashley and Ali caught up with us all and ventured out
to the Skeet Range - Linden on the range

Ready to compete

Professional 'B' Grader and a winner $16 and a water blaster,
good on ya! Dad from BJ.

Yet another ROAST

Parked up on the concrete, plus a good floor jack (brand new) a good opportunity to change out the caravan Pillow Blocks. Just as well before heading off across the desert on the Great Central Road

Linden's CARAVAN PARK - very good rates. Ashley and Ali camped up with us for a few days before we headed off.

Ready to go to school and we are also ready and GOOD TO GO!!
